Research

My research investigates individuals' attitudes on "socio-cultural" issues, such as immigration, gender, and sexuality, with a focus on West European politics. Broadly speaking, my research agenda develops along three lines.

The first line explores cross-dimensional attitudinal "bundling" - that is, the extent to which attitudes on immigration, on the one hand, and traditional morality, on the other, are independent. In particular, among other things, my doctoral thesis studies the effect of femo- and homonationalism on individuals' attitudes.

The second line studies on the nuances of public opinion on immigration, focusing on the emergence of positive attitudes towards immigration.

The third line investigates the politicisation of issues related to gender equality, sexuality, and gender identity and its effects on voting behaviour. Part of this research attempts to propose a conceptualisation and measure of "Wokeness".

I also study the role played by identity in political and non-political environments.
